My last experience with basic English students second period

                                                  Describe
On April 7th, I was in my last teaching practice from the second period. I was with Basic English students at UNICAES. Students were around 23 this time. It was around 09:05. My tutor was sitting in one side of the classroom. I was developing the last activity of my lesson plan. The classroom sitting arrangement was in a normal way. I explained students that they were going to develop a role play, and I asked   them to join in trios and told them to whom they were going to work with. Immediately, I gave them a piece of paper that contained the situation (role play) on it. I explained them that they had on the paper an example about how they could make their role play, but they could do it as the wanted based just in the situation given; also, that they just had 5 minutes to create their role play and to use can and can´t for possibility. After that, they started to ask me question about simple aspects of their role play. They showed interest to the activity that I had already assigned them. During they were planning their role play I was monitoring them, and when the time was over, I asked for volunteers to past first by motivating them with a gift (candies in a little box), so one group did it, and them, I assigned the order to the groups that were going to past after. Group by group passed and I could see that they were enjoying what they were doing, every student was doing his/her best when performing their role play.

I noticed that students were asking questions about what they had to do.

Based on what I observed, it is important to give for basic students examples about every activity that the teacher asks them to do.

The next time I will give always many examples to basic students because it helps them to understand in a better way what the teacher asks them to do.
I observed that all the students were participating and enjoying the activity.
It is important as a teacher to notice what kind of activities our students like the most.
I will consider to plan on my lesson activities in which my students could feel confident when develop it because it will make them to enjoy what they are doing.

My second expierence with Basic English students Second period

Describe
On March 29th, I was in my second teaching practice from the second period. I was with Basic English students in UNICAES. Students were around 24 this time. It was around 8:35. My tutor was sitting at the end of the classroom. I was starting the class by developing a warm-up activity. The classroom sitting arrangement was in a normal way. The classroom was too small and students were too many for that classroom. I told students that we were going to develop an activity, and I asked   to stand up and make two lines in the classroom. It was too difficult to them because the size of the classroom and the sitting arrangement of the desks. All students were kind of tired. I think that it was probably because of the holy week and It was difficult for me to make them being active. I was punished them through some jokes and compliments. They form the two lines despite of their mood. I explained them what the activity consisted on, and in order to make them understand, I modeled what they had to do, and they got it. So, we started the activity and students were participating through the activity. They were trying to write what it was needed. At the end of the activity, we review together and I pointed to those who made a mistake in order to point out the mistake
that was made but some of those students were not willing to show that they did it.

I noticed that all the students were kind of tired.

Based on what I observed, it is important to not give up to the purpose of the activity even if students do not show any interest toward to that.

The next time I face this situation, I will not give up pushing my students to participate and to develop an activity through things that make them feel motivated.
I observed that some students that did the mistake were kind of ashamed because of my behavior.
It is necessary when checking an activity to not point out who made the mistake but what the mistake is.
I will never point my students directly when they make a mistake. I will just be focus on the mistake that was made, and to demonstrate why it is not correct and how it is correct form.

My first expierence with Basic English students Second Period

Describe
On March 15th, It was the first time of my teaching practice from the second period. This time I was with Basic English students in UNICAES. Students were around 26. It was around 8:35. My tutor was sitting in my right side in the classroom. I was starting the class by developing a warm-up activity. The classroom sitting arrangement was in semicircle. The classroom was too small and students were too many for that classroom, so it was too difficult to have students in a semicircle way. I was a little bit nervous because it was my first time teaching basic English. I presented myself to Students. I was smiling to them and exaggerating my tone of voice in order to establish a good rapport among students and me. I gave to each student a piece of paper for students to write their names on it. I explain them that we were going to develop an activity. I divided them into two groups. I asked to each group to choose a leader and they did it so fast. I could see their faces expecting what they leaders were going to do. I explain to each leader what they had to do first through oral explanation and mimics. Then, I explain to the groups what they had to do and both the leaders and the groups got it since the first explanation. So, I started to show to each groups some flash cards. I pushed them to participate through compliments at the beginning in order to make everyone to participate. They were describing them through mimics. Everybody was participating and I could see that students were enjoying the activity. At the end just one group got all the flashcards but both did their best.

Students understood at first time what they had to do after explaining the directions.

Students´ mood was amazing during the activity.

Based on what I already know about giving directions I think that it is important to consider students level when explaining the directions especially when you do not have them in a written form because in the case of basic students mimicking and modeling is crucial to make students understand what you want them to do, due to the lack of vocabulary that they have.

Based on what I observed, It is crucial that the teacher´s mood being good in order to contagious students and to make them feel confidence towards the class.

So, in the future, I will always put on practice to make the directions easy to understand because it helps students to work as they are supposed to work in a specific activity, and also to not forget students level and according to that include on directions the elements that will help me as a teacher to make students understand easily what I want them to do.

In future lessons I will always try to have a good mood in the class in order to make my make my students to feel confidence towards the class and the different activities.
